Prayer Shawl Ministry
In August eight women met to form a Prayer Shawl Ministry. This ministry is to knit shawls for others who need the comfort of prayers and the joy of being wrapped in a shawl of soft yarn. Each shawl is knitted in prayer that the recipient would feel the presence of God ministering to their need when words were not enough. A shawl is a hug from God.
We have given 10 shawls to date -- some have cancer, some are having surgery, a new baby, to veterans from Walter Reed Hospital and others for times of joy. Our purpose is not to just knit shawls of comfort for people in need or shawls for joy in time of celebration, but to knit mindfully, lovingly and prayerfully that they may feel the prayers, thoughts and love knitted into each shawl.
If you are interested in starting your own Prayer Shawl Ministry, pleas contact Betty McConathy at (720) 981-4670.
