Andy Miller & Larry Renoe, Teachers Exploring the Spiritual Disciplines (SP) Beginning September 12, 9:00am $25/pp, Room 204W It’s not uncommon for an accomplished musician to be able to sit down in front of a new piece of music and play it through without a hitch. They make it seem easy, as if it requires no effort. Yet, the “freedom” to play with such skill comes only after years of disciplined practice. In the same way, the freedom to grow in godliness – to naturally express the character of Christ through your own personality – is in large part dependent on a deliberate cultivation of spiritual practices: Bible reading, prayer, solitude, fasting, simplicity and more. If you would like to work some spiritual fitness into your quest for godliness – this course will help you on your way. Lorna Jordan, Tammy Greene & Ethel Swartley, Teachers FREE, 9:00am Foundations, Room 211E The Foundations class will be studying Luke beginning October 10. He has worked with Muslims since 1983 and is the author of God’s Heart for Muslims and the editor of Encountering the World of Islam, which was a finalist for the Christian Book Awards in 2006 and also the textbook for a 12-week course used around the world.
