At WaterStone Community Church we have a leadership team that we call are elders.
We are ‘congregational’ in that the congregation votes to affirm those who serve in leadership at
WaterStone Community Church as Elders.
Per our bylaws, at WaterStone Community Church the “legislative and governing body
of WaterStone Community Church is the Board of Elders.” This board is tasked with insuring that,
spiritually and administratively, WaterStone Community Church remains true to our Vision Statement.
They provide leadership, direction, and oversight to all affairs of WaterStone Community Church.
On a practical level, the Elder Board deals with many aspects of church life. They pray together for guidance from the Lord regarding future direction and planning.
They meet regularly to pray for the church, approve future initiatives, oversee
the budget process, administer church discipline/restoration, and care for members of
WaterStone Community Church’s pastoral staff. In addition, they are available to pray for members
of the church body after each church service.
